How-to-Plan-a-Staycation-e1339513600733Finding yourself stuck on campus this spring break due to co-op? That’s okay because Northeastern has plenty of activities planed for you! Just imagine you are on the beach with your toes in the sand, which should do the trick! All Co-op Spring Break events are brought to you by Co-op Connections and while originally planned for Co-op students can be attended by all NU students regardless of their co-op plans. Unless otherwise noted, these events cost $5 and tickets are available on myNEU.

gamblingSee if it is your lucky night at Co-op Spring Break’s kickoff event, Casino Night, on March 3rd. Enjoy roulette, craps and blackjack, delicious food, even a photo contest! Restaurant gift cards, Celtics tickets, and Northeastern gear are only SOME of the giveaways at the event. This event is FREE but registration is required by filling out this form here. This event will go on from 5 to 7:30pm at the Fenway Center (77 St.Stephen Street).

While your friends are relaxing on a beach in Mexico, exercise your champion skating skills at Boston’s Frog Pond. The hot chocolate and great conversation is not to be missed! And at $5 (including skate time and rentals) this event is a steal! Embark on this skating adventure on March 4th (Monday) from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Frog Pond in Boston Common. Make sure to buy your ticket on myNEU!

Take your taste buds to another place by attending the simply delicious Southwestern Cooking Class. Learn how to prepare Chili Rellenos and Navajo tacos at this complete demonstration, followed by a tasting of each course. This event will be held in the Xhibition Kitchen on March 5th from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

Shake yourself out of a midweek slump at Wednesday’s Salsa and Merengue Lesson! Choreographer from Out-to-Dance Liz Nania will teach you the basics of these Latin dances and give you tips on how to improve. This class, which is at 6:30 in Curry room 348, is for all levels and does not require a partner.

As your week comes to an end, try unwinding with a relaxing yoga class led by instructor Jacqueline Rossi followed by a light brunch. Rossi will guide you through Hatha Yoga techniques at this class suitable for all levels as well as those with no prior experience. From 11:00am to 12:30pm on March 9th in the Sacred Space.

We know that being stuck on co-op might not be your idea of a fun time but Student Affairs hopes you have a great week nonetheless!
