Black History Month is here and what better way to honor our inspiring African American leaders than to learn about their origins here in Boston? The Freedom Trail Foundation is hosting the African-American Patriots Tour for the month of February. The tour takes people through the historic events of the Revolutionary War and the great impacts African-American leaders had on the formation of our country. This 90 minute tour offered every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this month at 1 PM will open your eyes to the experiences of these people in the 1700s and beyond. Missed Howie Mandel at Northeastern last year? Well, not to worry, he is back in Boston just for you! Catch the Emmy-Award winning comedian at the Wilbur Theatre in downtown Boston this Sunday February 12th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are starting at $30, but don’t forget to ask about Student Rush! Want to get in the mood for Valentine’s Day coming up this week? Grab a loved one and check out José Mateo Ballet Theatre’s performance of “Classical Lovers” this weekend. This beautiful ballet is choreographed by Mateo himself and is a presentation of three pieces inspired by romance, elegance, and charm. Don’t have anyone in mind to bring to a romantic ballet? No Valentine in mind? Don’t stress! You’ve still got plenty of time to find one and help a good cause while doing so! This Saturday February 11th at 7PM, The Estate (located by the Boylston T-Stop) is hosting Project Cupid’s 3rd Annual Charity Date Auction. For a suggested donation of $15, have your grabs at eligible bachelors and bachelorette’s including NESN’s reporter Heidi Watney.
