Today from 8:30-4:30pm, stop into the African American Institute as they host a Black History Month Celebration to conclude February and Black History Month!
Who is looking to to take a shot at stardom—ISSI style?! Tonight at 8pm, ISSI will be hosting an INTERNATIONAL IDOL! Tonight will consist of great music from every region of the world, whether an amateur or a pro, whether you speak Spanish, Arabic, Swahili or Mandarin, come on down and have a chance to steal the spotlight! There will be a non-competitive portion of the night and then ISSI is kicking it up a notch with a competitive singing contest. The audience will get to be in Simon Cowell’s shoes to nominate who will be 2012’s International Idol!
Tomorrow at 12PM in 90 Snell Library, come and Meet the Author of Dogma—Lars Iyer. Dogma, the sequel to the 2010 hit, Spurious, has been proclaimed by the Library Journal, “a philosophical rumination, at once serious and playful, on the nature of existence and meaning” Lars Iyers novels are considered to be part part Nietzsche, part Monty Python, part Huckleberry Finn. So, head over to Snell to learn from this dynamic, hilarious and intriguing author. Don’t forget to bring your copy of Dogma!
And tomorrow night in afterHOURS from 6:30-11pm, MEISA will present WARPED TOUR UNIVERSITY featuring D.R.U.G.S. Warped Tour University will include a guest lecture from Kevin Lyman—the creator of the cherished punk rock festival—Warped Tour.
