Give it up for our men’s basketball team who remain in perfect the CAA standings after last night’s 95-91 win over William & Mary. This marks the first time ever that Northeastern has started the season 7-0 in CAA play, and a season high of 95 points. For those who missed the double overtime thriller last night, in the last 15 seconds senior Joel Smith saved the game, hitting a jumper at the buzzer. Smith had a career high 29 points and freshman David Walker had a career best 17 points accompanied by five assists.
The Huskies strike again this Sunday, challenging George Mason at 8pm in Matthews Arena. Sunday’s game is also the annual “Suits & Sneakers” game. “Suits & Sneakers” is part of the Coaches vs. Cancer program that helps raise awareness about cancer and how proper nutrition and physical activity can help reduce the risk of the disease. Accordingly, Northeastern’s coach Bill Coen will donate $1 to the American Cancer Society for every Northeastern student in attendance at the game Sunday.
Let’s get over there and show Coach and the team our support!!
