Whirlwind of a Weekend

Brace yourselves, Huskies, not only against these frigid temps but also for a weekend’s worth of exciting events!
Brush up on your self-defense skills and learn about crime-prevention by attending today’s S.A.F.E. class (Self-defense Awareness and Familiarization Exchange) sponsored by the NUPD. Who doesn’t want to reduce their risk of exposure to violence? 1:00pm until 3:00pm in the Curry Center McLeod Suites.
It may be cold out side, but the men’s hockey team is heating up the ice! The Huskies will host UMass Lowell at Matthews at 7:00.
For a night full of laughter, check out the comedian and writer John Mulaney in Blackman Auditorium from 6:30 to 9:00pm. Tickets are $5 on myNEU. Northeastern is proud to welcome one of the acclaimed “best new faces” in stand up comedy.
Mike+Birbiglia+My+Girlfriend+Boyfriend+Off+yCAOb3qfJwcmThe time has come for Northeastern’s first ever Dance-a-Thon, put on by the NRHH (National Residence Hall Honorary) as part of Give 5 Week. Come give it your all on Sunday from 3-8pm in the Curry Ballroom. As if a reason to dance isn’t cool enough, this event is taking place to raise money for the Children’s Mental Health Campaign of the Children’s Hospital. Ask your friends and family to sponsor you for the amount of hours you plan on dancing and bring your donations to the event. To begin donating, visit http://howtohelp.childrenshospital.org/events/page/Michelle-DuBow/danceathon.htm. Registration begins at 2:30pm. mdparty1_-TCPCpropertyWe need you to help us fill out Mathews Arena for the men’s basketball game on Sunday at 8pm. Come watch as the Huskies fight for a win against George Mason in order to remain undefeated and in perfect CAA standing. For every Northeastern student in attendance at Sunday’s game, coach Bill Coen will donate $1 to the American Cancer Society. Let’s go Dawgs!
