Northeastern appreciates diversity, whether it be celebrating the different cultures on campus to the variety of different events that occur each day. There are many diverse events on campus today, from Islamic Awareness Week, NEXPO, to a children’s literacy campaign.
This week, Northeastern’s Delta Phi Omega Sorority has planned a number of events for Literacy through Unity Week to raise money and awareness for children’s literacy and education. This year all proceeds will be donated to a project sponsored by Asha for Education. Today stop by the Curry Indoor Quad any time from 12 to 6:30pm to show support for the sorority’s Stop Rape Now! campaign, which honors victims of sexual abuse and violence. All you need to do is get your picture taken to be submitted to http://www.stoprapenow.org.
As part of Islamic Awareness Week, the Islamic Society of Northeastern will be hosting the Dollars and Dinars: Making Sense of Islamic Finance event today at 6pm in the Curry McLeod Suites. Speakers include Charles Stromeyer and Ikramul Haque.The Live Music Association presents Reptar with Vacationer today at 7pm in AfterHours. Come jam out to two great bands that are not to be missed!
5 Under 25, a Black History month event sponsored by the Black Student Association will be held at 6:30 in the Cabral Center. Come explore your own career path and learn from successful Northeastern Alums under the age of 25. Refreshments will be provided.
Northeastern IDEA invites all students, startup enthusiasts, and inventors to attend NEXPO, a unique opportunity to meet and network with fellow entrepreneurs and startup venturers who will be showcasing their businesses. The expo floor at Cabot Cage opens at 6:30pm, registration is available here.
