Everyday is Student Engage Day at NU

It is Student Engage Day at participating universities across the country. At Northeastern, cheesy as it may sound, we consider every day to be “Engage Your Students Day,” especially here in Student Affairs. We continue to provide you with a wealth of activities happening on campus each day, and how you chose to engage yourself is up to you! Here are just some of the many options for today.paws e

Calm Yo’self and engage with you mind! Come to Meditation for a Happy Mind led by Mar York to learn the basics of finding the joy that is already in your heart and mind. From 4:35 to 5:05pm in the Sacred Space.

As Islam Awareness Month continues at Northeastern, make sure to attend today’s discussion Women in Islam featuring Maryam Amir-Ebrahimi today in the Curry McLeod Suites beginning at 6pm. She contributes to SuhaibWebb.com, a “digital mosque” that offers lectures and sermons to millions of young Muslims around the world. For more information about Amir-Ebrahimi’s speeches at other universities as well as Islamic awareness at other schools, check out this link.

We believe it was Dewey Finn played by (the one and only Jack Black) in the movie “The School of Rock” who told us to raise our goblet of rock. Let us show our appreciation for those who rock at tonight’s Battle of the Bands brought to you by NU’s Tastemakers Magazine and WRBB. Participating bands include Skinny Bones, jbAnjimile,AudioMatter, and more: see the event page here. And don’t forget to pick up a copy of the new Issue 31 of Tastemakers! Battle of the Bands will take place from 7 to 10:30pm in AfterHours.

Who’s got BINGO? Try your hand at the game at tonight’s RSA Bingo competition. Please be aware that OVER 30 PRIZES including an IPAD MINI AND FREE GROCERIES will be given away! No pressure! Head to the Curry Mezzanine at 8pm, and don’t forget to bring your “friendly competition” (or your friends, however you see it!).bingoo
