You best get that BBQ started up because it’s Memorial Day weekend! Here are some ways to enjoy the weekend, rain or shine!
It is important that you don’t get too carried away by the three day weekend that you forget what it stands for. Strolling through the Commons to see the American flags in the grass is any easy way to pay tribute. Also, on Monday Mayor Menino and Boston’s Veteran’s Services are hosting a free concert, “Remembrance 2013: A Musical Tribute to Our Heroes” at Christopher Columbus Park at 6:30pm. There will be free admission all weekend at the USS Constitution with demonstrations, activities, and more. If the rain happens to rain down on our parade, the MFA, Institute of Contemporary Art, Harvard Museum of Natural History, and the MIT Museum are offering free admission.
This Saturday Boston will get to finish the race that has cost our city so much and experience the final mile of the Boston Marathon at the #onerun. Come support our runners and our city this Saturday at 10:00am at Kenmore Square. Celtics legend Walter McCarty will be attending and the Boston Police Gaelic Column of Pipes and Drums will perform.
Rain can’t stop the rhythm of Boston Calling, Boston’s first two day music festival. The festival will take place this Saturday and Sunday on two stages and with 18 acts such as Fun, The Shins, and Of Monsters and Men. VIP tickets are still available on their website, as is a full line up for Saturday and Sunday. Fore more, read the review done by NU’s very own TasteMakers magazine here.
