Northeastern’s Tastemakers magazine serves as our campus’ cool older siblings with the impeccable record collections (shout out to my own big sisters and their affinity for bands like the Smiths and Bauhaus). The first weekend in October, Tastemakers Presents brought three indie rock buzz bands to NU’s Centennial Common. One of these artists, Frankie Rose, is currently on tour with Franz Ferdinand. The Scottish quartet has been bringing us a unique blend of danceable post-punk since 2004’s hit single “Take Me Out.” Tastemakers brings us a preview of Sunday night’s show at the Orpheum Theatre. Additionally, I reviewed Franz Ferdinand’s August release Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action over on Vanyaland. This show comes highly recommended to all indie rock loving Huskies!
