Join the African American Studies Department, the Center for Spirituality, Dialogue, and Service (CSDS), the John D. O’Bryant African American Institute, and the Social Justice Resource Center (SJRC) on Thursday, December 12 for a special ceremony celebrating the life of Nelson Mandela. The ceremony will take place from noon until 1:00PM in the Sacred Space (200 Ell Hall).
The gathering will include a time of silence, South African music, a video presentation, and remarks from students, staff, and faculty including Judge Margaret Burnham. Attendees will also have an opportunity to send their condolences to Mandela’s widow Graça Machel and the people of South Africa. More information is available on the NU event calendar.
