Student Affairs is proud to once again sponsor The Huntington 100, a recognition program designed to honor outstanding students for their achievements. Students must be nominated for this prestigious honor, and nominations are now being accepted.
While we anticipate the majority of candidates for this honor to be seniors due of their high levels of accomplishment, students from all class years will be considered. With a goal of widening the scope of the program to recognize high achieving students earlier on in their matriculation, non-graduating students who are selected to receive this honor will be granted opportunities to speak and participate in forums with parents, prospective students, alumni, administrators and trustees. They may also be invited to take part in admissions recruiting events, alumni chapter development and student mentoring.
Spirit of the Award:
The honored students must have impressive experience that is commensurate with the University’s mission, ideals, values and Academic Plan. The selection committee will consider the following:
- Impact on the campus community
- Record of service, be it within the University, or another community
- Global engagement, in the form of international co-op, study abroad or other experiential learning beyond the United States
- Demonstrated leadership
- Entrepreneurial or innovative spirit
- Commitment to a high level of ideals, and ability to positively represent the values of Northeastern
This is not to be viewed as a checklist, but rather a sampling of the many dimensions for which a student might be chosen.
Faculty, staff, advisors, coaches and fellow students may nominate students. This nomination form must be completed for consideration, and the deadline for nominations is Friday, February 28, 2014. Please take this opportunity to nominate outstanding students for this honor!
