Trash 2 Treasure (T2T) is an annual on-campus event hosted by Husky Environmental Action Team and initiated in 2009 with an aim to provide a reliable, efficient, and environmentally friendly donation service to students each semester during move out.
T2T collects unwanted but still usable items from students during spring move-out. Donations will go to The Greater Boston Food Bank, Cradles to Crayons or be recycled. Most other goods – sorted and stored over the summer by Door to Door Storage will be sold at a yard sale on campus during fall Welcome Week. Any leftover items will be donated to the The Furniture Bank for the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless. A portion of the profits earned from the sale will be donated to: Alternatives for Community and Environment and NU organizations who have volunteered their time with T2T.
This year’s collection will be held from Wednesday April 16th through finals week, through Senior week, and ending on Sunday May 4th. Collectible items include: household items, kitchen supplies, appliances, electronics, school supplies, storage containers, non-perishable food. Locations to donate: International Village (West Tower), Spear, Stetson West, West Village G, West Village A North, Davenport B.
