Friday, Feb 5th: Happy Hour at King’s
King’s in Back Bay actually makes bowling cool! This super-retro bowling alley and restaurant describes itself as “The Classy Bowling Joint,” which it certainly lives up to with creative drinks, awesome decor, and great DJs. Every Friday, pizzas and appetizers are 1/2 off between 3 and 6 pm and 50s Karaoke kicks off at 9 pm in the lounge.

Saturday, Feb 6th: Chinese New Year at the MFA
Chinese New Year is one of the most widely celebrated holidays in the world. This year, it falls on February 8th but is celebrated over the course of a couple of weeks with traditional ceremonies, family gatherings, and the exchange of gifts. The MFA is hosting a day of ~free~ Chinese New Year events hailing from all over Asia, including gallery tours, meditation sessions, art demonstrations, and music and dance performances. Stop by for a traditional New Year-inspired lunch in the Garden Cafeteria and stay for the Lion Dance!

Sunday, Feb 7th: Superbowl Sunday Funday Tailgate
We know you’ve already got plans to park yourself in front of a TV Sunday evening to watch the 50th Superbowl, but that means you’ve still got a whole day to fill with football-appropriate food. Coppersmith in South Boston is hosting an awesome tailgate including Dueling Food Trucks with Denver and Carolina-inspired street food. The restaurant has a garage door for one of its walls, which it opens to drive food trucks into the dining room. Fried chicken, old bay shrimp, nachos, and cornbread abound. Also, free wings for the first quarter of the game!

Monday, Feb 8th: Stump! Trivia at Common Ground
Tackle your Monday blues with an awesome night at Common Ground Bar & Grill for Stump! Trivia night! Grab a few pop culture-savvy friends and compete with teams from all over Boston to win some funky prizes! Common Ground has been home to Stump! Trivia for nearly ten years, during which time it’s become a neighborhood classic. The game is always accompanied by good music and delicious appetizers & desserts.

Tuesday, Feb 9th: Mardi Gras!
Celebrate “Fat Tuesday” over dinner in Stetson East sponsored by The Office of Student Affairs and Northeastern Dining! This event is always a student favorite, not surprising because as the name Mardi Gras suggests, the evening is dedicated to consuming as much fatty food as possible. Yum. Break up the winter slump with a special Cajun menu, live jazz music, and tons and TONS of beads! In the Mardi Gras tradition, some very delicious King Cake will be served.

Wednesday, Feb 10th: Valentine’s Day Raw Chocolate Making
Spend an evening with Jody Grimm, founder of Jo Jo’s Raw Chocolates to learn some chocolatier skills just in time for V-Day! The evening is part of Marlo Marketing’s Winter Health and Wellness series, and we’re quite excited that someone finally realized chocolate should be included in any health regimen. You’ll learn the art of “cooking” raw chocolate, sample some of Grimm’s most delicious varieties, and head home with easy recipes and a box of personalized truffles (perfect Valentine’s Day gift for bae!).
