Boston at Night: A Photo Exhibit

Local Photographers Present Remarkable Images of Boston After Dark at the BCAE’s New Photo Exhibit

The Boston Center for Adult Education presents Boston at Night, a photo exhibit curated by Beantown local Mike Mitchell of Hunt’s Photo and Video. The collection celebrates the beauty and spirit of Boston captured after dark by local photographers. On Friday, April 8th, the BCAE will host a *free* gallery party from 6 to 8 pm including artist meet-and-greets as well as plentiful wine and cheese. It’s a great opportunity to introduce yourself to the Boston photography scene and to learn more about the nuts and bolts of the industry. Plus, did we mention cheese?

Photographing Boston’s Architecture

On Wednesday, April 13th, Rob Phillips will teach students the art of long-exposure photography by capturing views of Boston’s skyline. He will focus on some of his signature techniques, like sharply capturing some elements of a picture while blurring and smudging other areas. Class will be from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, beginning at BCAE before moving outside to begin photographing. Perfect for beginners!

Black and White Nighttime Photography

On Thursday, April 21st, Don Toothaker will show students how to capture nighttime shots in black and white, focusing on famous Boston landmarks as subject matter. Class runs from 7:30 to 9:30 pm and is recommended for intermediate students with a good understanding of how to work their camera.
