NU Bucket List – #23
Picnic on the Harborwalk
Take a break from the dining halls with a picnic lunch on the Boston Harborwalk! The walkway is a 47-mile long path that winds its way from East Boston down to the Dorchester Bay. It’s dotted with plenty of scenic spots to watch the barges float by or to catch a great view of Downtown Boston!
Take a stroll through Quincy Market and then grab a spot for you and your picnic in the Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park, right next to Long Wharf and the New England Aquarium. Trellis walkways draped in flowering vines run through the lawns and gardens all the way up to the water’s edge. Walk out onto Long Wharf for a perfect view of the Harbor Islands (and all the giant yachts that dock nearby).
The entire park has free Wi-Fi so you can bring your laptop and crank out some homework, or just stretch out in the sun on a lazy Saturday. Take the Orange Line down to Haymarket and grab some goodies from the Boston Public Market right around the corner before strolling down to Christopher Columbus Park.
