NU Bucket List – #27
Boston Pride Parade
June is Pride Month in Boston, and every year it’s jam-packed with all kinds of awesome events to celebrate the city’s LGBTQ community! One of the celebration’s flagship events is the Boston Pride Parade, held this year on Saturday, June 11th starting at 12 pm in Copley Square. This year’s theme is “Solidarity through Pride,” which emphasizes the inter-sectional experiences of members of the LGBTQ community through collaborations with Black Pride and Latin@ Pride. The entire day is tons of fun, plus its an awesome way to get involved in Boston’s LGBTQ communities!
Each year, thousands of participants from across the Northeast come to watch musicians, performers, activist groups, and tricked-out floats march across Boston. The route ends at City Hall Plaza, which then hosts the Boston Pride Festival and Concerts all afternoon. You can expect lots of color, lots of glitter, and a whole lot of dancing that lasts well into the evening!
Performers include headliner Conrad Sewell, Samantha J, Brandon Skeie, and Samantha Johnson.
