NU Bucket List – #28

The Lawn on D

the lawn on d

Situated smack-dab in the middle of the Waterfront District, the Lawn on D is an awesome event space that plays home to art installations, free concerts, and funky food trucks all summer long. The most recognizable part of the lawn is Swing Time, a huge set of circular swings that light up different colors when moved at different speeds and heights. It’s currently the number one most-Instagrammed spot in Boston, so if you haven’t taken a selfie on one of the swings, you are seriously missing out!

Stop by the lawn every Friday afternoon for Lunch Break on D, an awesome summer series hosted by Berklee College of Music. From 12 to 2 pm, Berklee students will perform for free while you lounge around enjoying the sunshine and free Wi-Fi. Rebel Restaurants will also provide delicious and eclectic American fare for you to snack on! This Friday, Danae Greenfield will be jamming out on the lawn with jazz, R&B, and funk piano. Check out the full schedule of Lunch Break on D performers here.

Other Lawn on D events include Saturday Fundays with local bands, corn hole games, and samples from area restaurants, and Reggae Sundays to help you chill out for the week ahead. All of the Lawn on D’s summer events can be found here.

The Lawn on D is open most days to the general public from 7 am to 10 pm all throughout the summer. It’s situated right in front of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (420 D Street) and is just a short walk from the Silver Line World Trade Center stop.
