Donna Summer Memorial Roller Disco

Each year, Boston remembers its favorite home-grown disco queen Donna Summers with a celebration of all things Boston art! Dorchester native DJ Kon will preside over the event, which includes live performance art and Boston’s favorite food trucks. Best of all, though, will be the ~free~ roller skating rink with free skate rentals smack dab in the middle of City Hall plaza!

Pavement Comedy Night: June is Bustin’ Out All Over

Pavement Coffeehouse is one of Boston’s favorite home-grown coffee joints, especially on the third Friday of every month when its BU location turns into a comedy club! Pavement Comedy Nights often host some of the best talent from the illustrious Boston Comedy Festival but for a much cheaper price. Grab a seat early, it tends to fill up fast!

Learn to ride a Dragon Boat!

Each year, Boston hosts the country’s oldest Dragon Boat festival right here on the Charles. If you missed the festivities last weekend, head down to South Boston for a cruise around the harbor on your very own dragon!

Joe’s Jazz & Blues Fest

Head over to Somerville for all-day jazz and blues from New England area bands! This annual hodgepodge of ~free~ concerts brings out all kinds of Bostoners to listen to all kinds of awesome music. Just grab a blanket, claim a spot in the park, and get ready to jam!

BYOP to AERONAUT Bluegrass & Americana


Every Sunday, Somerville’s local brewing company AERONAUT throws open its doors to an eclectic mix of jazz, bluegrass, alt, and americana musicians. Bring your own picnic lunch, take a stroll through the brewery, and catch some awesome free music! You can also sample AERONAUT’s dozens of craft beers and ciders.
