This Weekend in Boston

Who’s ready for the weekend?! We’ve got all the best, funkiest, yummiest (and free) events around Boston, so get ready to be busy!

Free Fun Fridays

The Highland Street Foundation created this initiative to offer free admission to cultural venues across Massachusetts. Every Friday from now until the end of August, mark your calendars for places like the Franklin Zoo and The Institute of Contemporary Art.

The Arnold Arboretum occupies over 281 acres and is home to a large collection of different trees and flowers. This Friday, enjoy a stroll around the public park, take a guided tour of the pond ecosystems or do a watercolor painting in the library.

Take a free ferry to the two most popular Boston Harbor Islands, Georges and Spectacle Island. Pack a swimsuit, a lunch and a pair of sneakers and plan your visit around the ferry schedule here!

Bike-In Movie

bike in movie

The Boston Cyclists Union is hosting a bike-in movie under the stars, showing The Secret Life of Walter Mitty at an undisclosed location. Details about where they’re meeting and the 2-4 mile bike ride plan can be found here. It is BYOB(ike)!

Boston Poké-walk

Over 15,000 people are interested in the biggest Boston facebook event this Saturday. There is a Boston “Poké-walk” that starts on Boston Common and City Hall Plaza around 3 pm. See how one game can bring together people of all different backgrounds to celebrate one of the biggest games in history.

International Sand Sculpting Festival
