The countdown to the #NUWelcomeWeek BEGINS! From free food to fun events, we’re highlighting all the best events happening around campus. Best part is? These events are open to ALL students– not just incoming freshmen!
Sunday, September 4th
One husky’s trash, is another husky’s treasure. The annual NU Trash 2 Treasure Sale is perfect for those moving into your first apartment. You can take a look at the incredible prices here! The silent auction will be held 9/3 from 12pm – 4pm and the rest of the items will be on sale 9/4 from 10am – 6pm. Both events are held in the Curry Ballroom.
Monday, September 5th
Start off your fall fitness plan on the right foot. Join Fit University for a workout on Centennial from 10 to 11 am and beat the Freshman 15 myth.
Head to the Indoor Quad pit in Curry for the American Ninja Warrior watch party from 8 – 10pm! There will be free food and our very own Northeastern Ninja, Josh Levin, will be in the house!
Tuesday, September 6th
This is the event you DON’T wanna miss. Fall Fest is celebrating the beginning of fall semester with food, games, live music, a giant Slip N’ Slide and your chance to learn about our almost 400 student organizations and clubs. Whether you’re in it for free food, swag or looking for ways to get involved, this is our biggest event of the year!
Wednesday, September 7th
Okay, maybe not the most fun event, but the part-time career fair on Wednesday will be your best bet for finding an on-campus job. Stop by if you’re looking for some extra fall cash!
Although Northeastern’s Live Music Association hasn’t released the artist yet, you can expect a concert in AfterHours with a nationally touring act. Last year, we were lucky enough to have BORNS come, and the line was out the door and wrapped around Curry. It starts at 8:30 pm, but plan on getting there earlier to beat the crowd!
Interested in joining Panhellenic and Sorority Life? Meet the nine Panhel chapters and get all the details about recruitment at True Life in the Curry Ballroom from 8:30 – 10:00 pm.
Thursday, September 8th
Fall-cappella showcases all of the vocal talent that Northeastern has to offer. All of the groups will perform in the Indoor Quad of Curry from 7 – 9 pm. PS: This is the closest to Pitch Perfect you’re gonna get!
Friday, September 9th
Come cheer on our volleyball teams as they take on Fordham University on Solomon Court! #RedBlackOnePack
Saturday, September 10th
Haven’t had your concert kick this summer yet? See Jason Aldean and Kid Rock at Fenway Park with a special discount for Northeastern students. To purchase tickets simply visit: http://www.redsox.com/aldeanspecialoffer and enter your passcode: JASON.
Northeastern’s local Boston radio channel, WRBB, will be hosting their 37th Annual Fall Block Party with their special guests still to be announced. More details will be posted on their Facebook event.
Sunday, September 11th
The Northeastern Black Student Association (NBSA) in collaboration with Stepping On Another Level (S.O.A.L) presents the annual event THE COOKOUT!
Fine, you caught us…the Somerville Dog Festival isn’t actually a Northeastern sponsored event, but we thought you still might wanna know.
