NU Bucket List – #37

Every week, we post one more thing you MUST do before you graduate Northeastern. Tag us in/tweet us a picture of you doing our thing of the week, and you could win some pretty awesome prizes (including your favorite Husky swag)! #NUbucketlist

Visit a Family Farm

September is wrapping up and October is right on our heels. You know what that means…FALL! And with fall comes pumpkin spice everything, from candles to lotions and perfume to cookies. But of course, we can’t forget the signature Starbucks pumpkin spice latte, (now called the “PSL”).

Columbus Day will hit us before we know it, so start planning your fall themed Instagrams now! Boston Hill Farm in North Andover is a great day trip if you’re looking to get out of the city. With a variety of activities to do and fresh produce and flowers to purchase, this 12 generation family farm is a must-do this semester.

Apple picking is currently in-season until mid-November. Grab a bag and fill it up with McIntosh, Cortland, Macoun, Ginger Gold, Paula Red, and Red Delicious apples. Oh, and you cannot leave without trying their hot apple cider and cider donuts!

Of course, they also have a pumpkin patch where you can find the perfect pumpkin for your home. You can take home a tiny one to fit on your windowsill, or lug home a 50-pounder if you have a house on the Hill! Whatever the size, they will have you covered.

Since it is outside the city, your best bet of getting there if you don’t know someone with a car is to rent one. When you split it between you and 4 other friends, it doesn’t come out to much at all!

Pro tip: If you sign up for ZipCar with your husky email, your annual membership is only $15 a year. We can also instantly hook you up with $30 worth of driving credit for your first trip, if reach out to us on social media.
